Backed by the implementation of Tariffs and Special Rights by BPH MIGAS, PT Pertamina Gas conducts its gas transportation activities through 43 segments pipelines transmission with 32,647.70 km inch length that was located in North Sumatera, South Sumatra, West Java, East Java and East Kalimantan. As an operator, PT Pertamina Gas will therefore develop Access Arrangements joint utilization of its pipeline network.
These access regulations, which must secure the agreement of BPH MIGAS, cover management guidelines as well as technical and legal regulations that, must be adhered to by shippers wanting to make use of the network. The company also carries out oil transportation activities according to the Oil Transportation Business Permit issued by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas.
At present PT Pertamina Gas is developing their biggest project in gas transportation field which is developing Semarang - Gresik 28” gas transmission with 258 km length. By developing the Semarang – Gresik project, the gas pipeline in Java will be connected and PT Pertamina Gas becomes the largest gas enterprise in its class.
As the subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Gas always tries their best to increase the gas supply to the consumers. The issuance of Trading Business Permit for PT Pertamina Gas by the Oil and Gas Directorate and the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources in October 2008 was considered as one of the driving forces of the Company’s trading business. The permit made the company’s business to be feasibly growing.
By this provision, PT Pertamina Gas strives to constantly maintain a safe gas supply for the consumers who are bound by commitments and also for market expansion. Several PJBGs are continuously carried out with contractors, namely Production Sharing Contracts (PSC), Joint Operating Bodies (JOB) and Technical Assistance Contracts (TAC).
At present, PT Pertamina Gas binds with PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja and PT Bayu Buana Gemilang for 25 BBTUD gas sales and purchase agreement, and in 2012 this number will increase into 127 BBTUD.
Beside gas transportation and gas trading business, PT Pertamina Gas also continued to develop gas processing business by build gas processing plant through cooperation with various parties. One of the projects is South Sumatera NGL Plant Project Development. In this project PT Pertamina Gas is corporate with Samtan from South Korea through a partnership cooperation namely PT Perta-Samtan Gas. This project will be on stream in 2012.
Moreover, PT Pertamina Gas also developing LPG Plant Pondok Tengah in Bekasi as their other gas processing project, the plant has operated since march 2011 and produced 51 Ton/Day LPG in 2011 . PT Pertamina Gas is corporate with PT MME and Regional Owned Enterprise to develop this project by using BOO business scheme with PT Yudistira Energy.
Tempino – Plaju oil pipeline carried out in order to replace the old existing pipe that aged more than 70 years. Additionally, this pipeline also aims to secure the feed oil supply to the RU III Refinery, because the best way to transport the oil is through pipe considering its effectiveness, cost, HSE and social aspects.

PT Pertamina Gas’s other business are:
- LNG Receiving Terminal Development. This project manages by PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pertamina Gas involve as one of the project committee.
- CNG Marine Development.
- Independent Power Producer (IPP) development in the Pertamina EP’s Operation Area that corporate with other parties, which are Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and Regional Owned Enterprise.
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Support Urban Gas Network in East Java
The Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan specially inspected the urban gas network construction in Mojokerto Regency, East Java, on Sunday (11/08). Gresik-Semarang Pipeline to Supply Gas from JTB
Pertagas steps up completion of the open access Gresik-Semarang gas pipeline construction project so as to ensure energy supply in the island of Java.
