Pertamina Trusted to Build Largest City Gas in Indonesia

Prabumulih, March 21st 2016 – Indonesia’s largest city gas infrastructure with total 32,000 houshold connections began to built in Prabumulih, South Sumatra. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said (03/21) attent the groundbreaking event for city gas infrastructure development for 32,000 household connections, along with gas station development in Lapangan Prabujaya, Prabumulih City, South Sumatra accompanied by the Governour of South Sumatra Alex Nurdin, Mayor of Prabumulih Ridho Yahya, and Director of HR and General Affairs PT Pertamina (Persero) Dwi Wahyu Daryoto.
 
This project is one of government effort through Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to optimize gas usage as one of energy diversification. Prabumulih will be the city that received city gas program with the largest number of household connections in Indonesia. The project will be funded by state budget with total IDR 543.8 trillon investment.
 
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources assign Pertamina to build and also operate these city gas and gas station infrastructure. The development will complete in the end of December 2016. Gas supply will comes from Pertamina EP and PT Tropik Energi Pandan. “Prabumulih was chosen as the city that recive this project due to previous success in the city gas program. Other that that, the government of Prabumulih is one best example of the most cooperative local government in terms of developing gas infrastructure in its area,” said Sudirman Said.
 
Mayor of Prabumulih Ridho Yahya said his gratitude because Prabumulih has been chosen as city that receive city gas and gas station infrastructure development. “I personally hoped next year all citizens in Prabumulih could use the city gas for household. So that we, as the oil and gas producer city, will receive direct benefit from it,” said Ridho.
 
Director of HR and General Affairs Pertamina Dwi Wahyu Daryoto said gas infrastructure project in Prabumulih is one of best example of synergy in Pertamina’s business lines. “Gas comes from Pertamina EP, pipelines will be build by Pertagas, and Pertagas Niaga will operate the city gas, this is a clear proof that we Pertamina fully committed to supply energy for Indonesia,” said Dwi.
 
Previously, Prabumulih has received 4,650 household connections of city gas from state fund that managed by Pertagas Niaga. In near future, Pertamin will also develop city gas infrastructure with Pertamina’s investment fund in total 2,626 household connections. Therefore by the end of 2016 there will be 39,300 household connections in Prabumulih.
