JAKARTA – As an affiliate of PT PGN Tbk and PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Gas established synergy with PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) and PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM). This cooperation was conducted in provision LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) infrastructure project to fulfill the needs of conversion diesel dual-fuel testing that was used by PHM. The signing memorandum of an advanced understanding of the project was done by online on Wednesday, July 29th.

 

The MoU signing event was conducted by President Director of PT Pertamina Gas Wiko Migantoro, PTH President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Danar Dojoadhi, and President Director of PT Pertamina Tongkang Nepos MT Pakpahan. Meanwhile, Deputy of Finance and Monetization SKK Migas Arief S. Handoko, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Expert for Oil and Gas Management Nanang Untung, Director of Logistic and Infrastructure of PT Pertamina (Persero) Mulyono, CEO of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Budiman Parhusip, Director of Infrastructure and Technology PT PGN Tbk Redy Ferryanto also attended to witness the ceremony event of signing the memorandum of an advanced understanding of those three Pertamina affiliates.
 
Through this collaboration, Pertagas as part of the gas sub-holding commits to contribute to the success of the conversion program from BBM to LNG use. It is hoped that this will also contribute to reducing fuel imports, especially for ships from the Pertamina Group. "We have experience in the management of an integrated LNG infrastructure, starting from filling stations, supplying ISO tanks, and transporting LNG to various consumers," said Pertagas Corporate Secretary, Fitri Erika.

 

According to her, the initial review of this project, both from a technical and commercial perspective, was carried out since September 2019. "With the signing of this memorandum of understanding, we certainly hope that there will be a cooperation agreement soon," she hoped.

 

Erika added that this project is also an effort to develop the Pertagas business and at the same time is an effort to increase the Pertagas LNG business portfolio.

 

DDF technology is a technology that combines the use of diesel and LNG as fuel for ships. In this project, Pertamina Trans Kontinental will modify the engine on AHTS Trans Moloco from diesel to dual-fuel LNG: HSD (60:40) which is planned to start operating in August 2021. If this project is successful, it will be developed into the industrial phase on other ships that operated at WK Mahakam.
