In order to strengthen the synergy between Pertamina’s subsidiaries, the board of directors of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) made a visit to the management of PT Pertamina EP (PEP). The visit was also meant to introduce the new President Director of Pertagas to PEP’s Board of Directors. In the meeting that took place at PEP’s Head Office in Standard Chartered Building, both parties discussed some issues on business strategies.
“We are aware that PEP is our biggest shipper, therefore good communication between managements is important for us,” said Suko Hartono. On average, PEP distributes 455,96 MMSCFD of gas.
Furthermore, among Pertagas’ efforts to develop business in gas commerce and distribution, PEP’s role will be the key to success. “PEP as the gas’ owner is beneficial for helping us to improve the commercial business,” Suko continued. He hopes that Pertagas is entrusted to sell all of PEP’s gas production to end users.
President Director of PEP Nanang Abdul Manaf welcomed the plan to strengthen the synergy with Pertagas. "Upstream exploration is a big investment with high risk. With the assurance that Pertagas is ready to become a buyer, PEP’s return on investment will hopefully progress smoothly,” Nanang said.
Nanang further offered Pertagas management to sit together to discuss each other’s working projectionsso as to build better cooperation both on top management level and on working level. This synergy is also expected not only to increase revenue, but also to open new business potential of each company. Soon Pertagas will also make similar visits to other upstream Pertamina subsidiaries.
