JAKARTA – Projects of Arun LNG Receiving, Hub, and Terminal Regasification will give priority gas supply for downstream industries around Aceh.
President Director of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) Hendra Jaya said the project also will supply gas to power plants owned by PT PLN (Persero), especially at Lhokseumawe and North Aceh.
“In order to electrical power shortages at Aceh can be tackled,” he said in formal statement on Thursday night (4/9).
According to him this project is built to participate in driving economy and industry of Aceh so that could rise up and regrow. Furthermore the Arun project will be tested (commissioning) soon in October. The objective to turn on Lhokseumawe Industry Zone and its surrounding area (ZILS).
Hendra Jaya claimed some of industries which less than maximum production such as Pupuk Iskandar Muda, Asean Aceh Fertilizer (AAF), Kertas Karf Aceh (KKA) and Humpus Aromatik will able to rise because the Arun Project will supply gas from the Arun refinery.
“Even Lhokseumawe and North Aceh cities have chance to develop the new industrial estate outside of oil and gas; since Arun refinery would like to supply gas for driving the industries,” he said.
Pertagas will very open to discuss with all of stakeholders in Aceh for optimizing the Arun Project to support economy at Aceh.
Pertagas as holding of PT Perta Arun Gas wants public participation in optimizing Arun Project to increase the welfare of Acehnese.
The Arun regasification project integrate with 350 Km Arun-Belawan pipeline and 400 MMSCFD capacity. Beside Aceh, the Arun refinery will also supply gas to Medan, North Sumatera.
Up to now, the project progress reached 95% and confirmed in October will be on stream for testing (commissioning). This Arun refinery will ensure availability of gas supply in Aceh.
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to Support Urban Gas Network in East Java
The Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan specially inspected the urban gas network construction in Mojokerto Regency, East Java, on Sunday (11/08). The construction project is carried out by Pertamina. The visit was meant to see firsthand the progress of the project financed with APBN 2017 of Rp 37.8 billion.....
